Race Night Information

Join us for a fantastic evening of racing, laughter and fundraising in support of the 98th Pentland Scouts Kandersteg 2027 Expedition.

For just £10 per person, enjoy an exciting Race Night while helping our Scouts raise funds towards the adventure of a lifetime at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in Switzerland.

Whether you’re coming along to enjoy the atmosphere, own a horse, sponsor a race or simply support our young people, there’s something for everyone.

Race Night tickets are limited and we expect the event to be popular.

To avoid disappointment, please purchase your tickets in advance. Once tickets have sold out, no further admission tickets will be available on the door.

🏇 What is a Race Night?

A Race Night is a fun-filled social event where professionally filmed horse races are shown on a big screen throughout the evening.

No knowledge of horse racing is needed. It isn’t about understanding the sport—it’s about enjoying the excitement, cheering on your horse and having a great night out with friends and family while raising money for a fantastic cause.

Guests receive a race programme showing the runners and race numbers before each race, making it easy to follow the action.

Throughout the evening you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get involved, cheer on the winners and enjoy some friendly competition.

The evening will conclude with our exciting Auction Race, where the horses are auctioned to the highest bidders before the race begins. It’s always one of the most entertaining races of the night and often raises the biggest cheers!

How You Can Take Part

🎟️ Race Night Entry – £10

Your ticket includes entry to an enjoyable evening of entertainment and fundraising.

🐎 Own a Horse – £10

Become the proud owner of one (or more!) of the racehorses taking part during the evening.

As a horse owner you can:

1. Name your horse.
2. Create your own owner or syndicate name.
3. Cheer your horse on during its race.
4. Win a prize if your horse finishes first.

Each horse is unique, so once it’s sold, it’s gone!

💷 Tote Betting

During each race you’ll be able to place small bets on the horses using our tote betting system.

It’s simple, fun and suitable for everyone. Just choose your horse before the race begins and see if you’ve picked a winner.

All proceeds help support the expedition.

🏆 Sponsor a Race

Would you, your family or your business like to sponsor one of the races?

Race sponsors will receive recognition:

1. In the official race programme.
2. During the evening by the Race Night host.
3. As part of our event fundraising.
